Sue Bunting, General Manager

Hi! I am Sue Bunting, the General Manager of Kardinia Early Learning Services and the current custodian of our Vision and Mission. Twenty-six years ago, the spark for our Early Learning Centre’s vision grew in my heart when as a Mum of two young girls, I was seeking an inspired educational experience for my daughters. As a working Mum, I was looking for somewhere extra special where my children were truly known, genuinely cared for and challenged. I found the experience of finding the right early learning centre – that I felt comfortable putting the trust of my two girls in – difficult.

Back to university I went and after many years of teaching children from infants to school age, the opportunity for me to manage Kardinia Early Learning was too good to refuse. My vision aligned with the Committee’s and our journey began in 2008. Over 12 years later, we have built an amazing team of passionate educators that strive every day to make a positive difference to each child and every family.

At Kardinia, our approach to early childhood education and care is eclectic, drawing inspiration from pioneers in our field such as Maria Montessori, Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Emilia), Emmi Pikler (Respectful Caregiving) and Magda Gerber. We aspire to ensure every child experiences differentiated learning environments that promote many ways of learning, knowing and being.

People matter to us and as such, we stay attuned to the learning needs of not just our organisation but to each individual within it. Some of Kardinia’s specialist team include our Outdoor Teacher, Environment Design Coordinator, Resource and Sustainability Educators, Music Program Coordinator and Chaplain.

Our doors are always open, as we want you to feel at home and part of the Kardinia family. Partnership is a joint venture so your input and feedback are essential in the quality improvement process.
